Same here. It's a little more complicated than I anticipated... |

I really have very little idea how Shellmixer is set up... Not sure how long it will take me to figure out what's wrong with my config... :< |

Yeah, I'm not having much success with a bot (eggdrop) either... I'm sure we'll get there though. |

I started trying to configure one Eggdrop bot on Shellmixer... Needless to say, I didn't fare well. Gotta check the settings again. |

It appears there's a little confusion now that there's two IRC channels. That's entirely my fault as I created one thinking it would be okay and then quickly afterwards found a better solution...
So, to clarify, the IRC channel on IRCNet is now defunct. From now on the only 'official' channel will be the Mibbit link here:
irc://irc.mibbit.net/ROTT
It's also in the first post and happens to be my (now corrected twice!) signature. Speak to you all soon
PS: I'm looking into the bots thing. Wish me luck! |

I was trying using the web page.
I got it working, but it was a hassle.
I went to the page, and once it loaded, I changed the default nick to "Mike" and click GO. I immediately get the error
irc.mibbit.net/: Could not resolve hostname.
I dismiss the error, go back and see that the channel box has been emptied, so I have to type #ROTT into it and click GO again. THEN it lets me in.
Then I find I don't like the look and feel it so, so...
Screw it, I'm the chat room now, using chatzilla, which works just fine.
Thanks,
-Mike |

Mmmm, I tried this Mibbit thing, and once it loads and I change the nickname to 'Mike' I get the error:
irc.mibbit.net/: Could not resolve hostname. |

If you have a decent connection to the internet and an enormous amount of average uptime, then you could host one yourself, like Eggdrop (I've used this one before)
Or if you don't have a computer or connection like that, you could get a shell account from a Shell Provider... You can find a list of them here.
Edit: Changed link to free providers. |

The link works, and was much faster than the other one... Very nice.
Do you plan to put in any bots..?
(To take care of the room when you are gone) |
