I wouldn't feel guilty about using a crack for it (or using someone else's serial number) if the software's author is no longer supporting it and/or making himself available to get paid.

I agreed, it's impossible buy a no longer supporting software and it's not a good idea for me.
I just didn't like somethings about some stupid copyright problems like "abandonware"...... some companies didn't sold those old wares but hold the copyrights and did nothing till they dead or absorbed. What a stupid I see... what were they thinking?
