To everyone who has downloaded my posted gzdoom on birgers' site,
please let me know if your getting sync errors on a regular basis, and
what version of gzdoom your using, is everyone in a DM match using
the same version or different versions, me and el zee just played some
DM, but were seeing the sync error almost constantly, I need to figure out
is it the level that's being played, how I'm compiling the gzdoom source code
or something else.
Thanks! |

Try adding '-netmode 1 -extratic' to the command line when you run a DM
game, for example when I join a DM game using the rott-tc, my command line
would be:
gzdoomsvn.exe -iwad doom2.wad -file ROTT_TC_DEMO.pk3 -netmode 1
-extratic -join <some>
the next time I play, I'm trying this commadline, hopefully it will help with
sync errors. |

Typo, the '<some> should be '<some>' |

Another possibility is we're all using slightly different versions of the
doom2 wad file... |

Seems like theres quite a few variables there that could contribute to the problem...
If I get the chance to play online again anytime soon I'll give these things a try. _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I can't tonight, I'm helping birger on some
stuff, maybe later. What we really need here is a better way to get
organized... |

I noticed that Return of The Triad for Doom 2 is released. I'll try to figure out how to get everything working tomorrow for a multiplayer game. |

something really odd is happening, I'm getting sync issues on lan play with identical files(no problems at all before), I tried all those command params you posted, it doesn't make any difference. Interestingly DM1 plays fine without sync issues, but the rest of the maps dm2 - dm5 go out of sync - I'm wondering if this is a zdoom issue? _________________ http://elzee.cz.cc |
