Nope its still going somewhat Smile

Anyway glad you made it over to here, and having played a little bit of your first level I have to say this is good, I was having fun with it until I accidently
killed myself by walking into one of those easily avoidable lava walls Confused

But I must say nice job so far! Can't give you levels a full test run just yet, need to finish playtesting Mike's maps first, but if you can wait for a little bit i'll give you my 2 cents worth on them.

I will definitely give your levels a shot, and provide feedback.

If you'd like to play mine, they are at: http://mikemiller.net/rott/MIKE1.ZIP

Well I played your levels to completion.
The first level I felt was rather basic and straightforward. I felt was more like Doom/Wolfenstein map. (Not that it's a bad thing, but if you play my maps, you'll see I'm into much richer environments, so I'm biased in that way). I spent a lot of time looking for secret passages, only to receive the Curiosity Bonus at the end for finding all of them (even though there were none at all).

In the second level things seemed to pick up, and was more fun overall. By this time I'd given up on looking for pushwalls, and was surprised at the end that there were two that I missed. Oh well.

Third level was by far the most difficult, with the various moving walls and SO MANY of those damned monks. Smile

All in all, I enjoyed them, as I enjoy playing ROTT in general, but I would have enjoyed more puzzles (play my levels for ideas on that) and secret areas containing bonus items.

Thanks for your levels; I look forward to any more you may create!

-Mike

I played the first level and a little bit of the second level...

I quite like the architecture and layout of the very beginning of the first level. I thought it was pretty cool. I played through and, to be honest, my hasty nature made me make very liberal use of the crystals all over the place. Now for the spoily stuff... (Highlight to read)

I can only really give a good review of the first level as I haven't played that far on the second.

Anyway, the level was nice, it felt almost like the level "Wall to wall" in The Hunt Begins. All of the moving walls I used to my advantage, but not to the point that I was waiting for enemies to walk through them to avoid fighting. The Enforcers caught me off guard, but I was able to get rid of them all easily enough. (Taking on an enforcer as Lorelei is not really a good idea unless you are very good at dodging.) I did die a few times in the level, mostly open-this-door-instadeaths when my health was low. Or running into a rocket wielding enemy around a corner.

There were a lot of enemy halls, and I actually kept my firewall for most of the level, it was very useful against two particular enforcers who avoided the spinning blades in one room.

Oh, and for the second level, I found two secrets so far... But I was surprised by the lack of them in the first level

Also, I noticed a bug:
- Part way through the level by the silver key door in the room with the two firewalls... Ontop of the metal, there is a hole that is impossible to get out of if you fall into it.

Certainly a good idea there. One of the things I like about its design is how its got secret area's set up, so including some more secrets in your maps would be good Smile

Just to be the contrary so-and-so that I am I was actually quite amused that there were no secrets in the first level. It kinda felt like a devious wee trick to play with my presumptions that "there must be a secret somewhere!". And I still got a bonus in the end so that's good (call me greedy!). The side effect of that, which I also found amusing in a cruel way, was that Dopefish didn't bother to look for secrets in the second level and therefore will have to play through it again!

Whether by design choice or accident I thought that captured the twisted humour of ROTT quite nicely. Smile
