Glad to see you stop by again Lin . Don't feel so bad about that, RottED's still a good program. Besides, I like using MapedROT and i'm fairly certain no one else has even used that thing
@Dopefish: Think you cleaned up Per-Scans pretty well, I say we go with it. Though I am curious as to why you left yourself out of the credit list. _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!

I actually really like ROTTed but the one thing that I like about RMD is that I can see the sprites while I'm making a map. With ROTTed you can only either see your map or the sprites and walls.
But whichever you're happiest with is the best one!
PS: Welcome back. |

Mainly because I did very little. I don't feel the need to be credited. _________________ -Swim, swim, hungry |

Hey man, without you we would still be trying to figure out why the pin code wasn't taking right, let alone have this awesome installer _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!

LOL...well, ROTTed is best one but still have some problems on it when running on currently systems. :p
Hmm, ROTTed has a problem about the map file size, it looks like bigger than other editor. RMD is better on this, I use that to reduce the size about 500 KB to ~200KB, so I will use RMD for optimization/check errors on my maps.
Anyway, thanks. _________________ My crap ROTT fan site. :p

You said that he didn't have a problem with the registry hack. I think Dopefish would like to know if he wouldn't have a problem with the Installer. Though if he didn't have a problem with the hack I can't imagine why he would have a problem with the installer. _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!

Yeah I guess I'm assuming the same thing. He seemed very nice, and just seemed happy we're still using his tool. Since he doesn't have the source code and doesn't care if we use whatever keys, it stands to reason he'd be cool with this.
Of course any of you are free to contact him via Facebook like I did to verify if you have any concerns...

Yes, this and if he is ok with the Terms of Service and the whole "Freeware" thing.
But he did seem very nice considering the way he responded to us earlier. _________________ -Swim, swim, hungry |

Personally just by how he reacted and answered mike, I would say he doesn't really care what we do with it now. As mike said, he seemed pretty excited that it was still in use
I'd go ahead with the installer! _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!

Ah, I didn't know the difference in file size was so big. I wonder why the ROTTed maps are so much bigger - that's over two times the size of the RMD file!
Are you planning on working on Dark Realm again? I know you had problems with limitations before but I, for one, would love to see this map set finished. It has some really nice parts in it. |

Yeah, I think you're maybe right dopefish. He may be happy that folk are using it but it may annoy him that we just presumed that would could give it away to the world at large (all 5 of us! ). I'll contact him and ask for explicit permission. Just to be on the safe side - we don't want to upset anyone. |
