Thought I might just go ahead and post this here since theres a few doom fans here as well. Apparently at the moment the future of DRD does not look so good. Apparently the place will only be up for about another month unless someone steps forward or someone offers to donate some money to keeping the site going.

Having a year to sort out the finance issues will at least give some breathing space. That's the risk of having services that cost money, I suppose. Maybe they should come up with some sort of bounty scheme? In fact, that's something we should think about for our future...

I'm not sure what DRD is...is it just the forum?
I have trouble understanding how finances could threaten a forum. Webhosting can cost as little as $6/mo. I don't give a rat's ass about Doom, but if things are so bad for someone, I'd be happy to step in and host it on my dime. Since it's a PHPBB forum, all I would need is a DB dump of the forum, and I could put it up and host it on my server....

I not exactly sure what the "team" is, but its quite more than just a forum. DRD has several hosted sites that are quite important, such as sites for two of the DOOM source ports Risen and GZDoom (but thats been moved off there sever now), a file hosting service for things (has much more popular use on ZDoom), and one of the most important things, the SVN builds for quite a few DOOM ports and programs. And those are just some of the popular stuff.
Currently though I think its going to be ok, as they got a year to get things sorted out.
