Well if you know me mike I can get past all the hard stuff, its the relatively simple and easy to find stuff that stumps me
|
Let me know if you find it, or if you still have trouble, when you go back to try this part again. There's still a lot of the level you haven't seen yet.

Alright, i've been playing this for quite awhile and I still can't figure this out. I've moved that pillar right behind where you start, but it never stops the boulders. They just past right through it. Is that suppost to happen? _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!

Wrong color, Lawstiker. I think you wanted the DEE3E7 for that.
(For things like this, it may just be better to email me).
I'm confused and flabbergasted. The boulder goes right THROUGH the pillar??? In the many dozens of times I've played it, I've never seen that happen. I can only assume it's some sort of bug. Since that is at the very beginning of "End Game, Part 1" and there isn't a lot fo do before you get to that part, can you just restart the level and try it again? I don't have any other suggestion at this point...

Well, patching my digital copy (IE, taken from the CD and put in a zip for easier access) didn't work, so I've got to go on a hunt to find the location of my CD. Shouldn't take to long, just need to go through all my CD's to find it, so it may be a day before I check and see if v1.3 is the only one it works for.
Alternatively, since I was somewhat impatient, I level skipped to the next part and managed to finish your episode mike (except for that one spot). If you want me to give my thoughts of the other levels just ask, or I can wait until I find my CD and test out that version issue. _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!

Heck, if you wanted to move on you could have just used the fly mode cheat to get the key...
You should do that before you comment, I think, so you get to see the bulk of the first level.
Thanks!

Well mike, it took awhile to find the disk, but I patched it on up and fully and completely finished your episode mike. Here are my thoughts on the rest of it. Over all not a very in depth and detailed review, but a few notes nonetheless
Endgame Part 1:
I liked the opening area, I liked seeing something quite large and open after all the small to medium area's I have seen through the episode. I have to say I liked the boulder thing (when it works that is ) but I did actually die once because of all the fireballs being thrown about.
The only other part that really stood out to me was the gas chamber area, which was quite awesome actually. At first I was like "aww man, more narrow hallways" then the gas came out and it was panic mode from then on.
Endgame Part 2:
In my opinion, I thought this level was a little lackluster compared to the other three endgame levels, but it was still fun. I loved the room with all the jump pads...though I have to say...evil evil evil hiding one of those robots behind one of those doors mike
Endgame Part 3:
I think this is actually my favorite of the endgame levels...the whole theme and design of the map...I think it really stood out compared to the other levels in the episode. Using those walls to simulate different heights and to give off the effect that it was a fenced in area of sorts was just brilliant.
Endgame part 4:
This level I also loved, Mostly because I love the tower effect that was pulled off here. I especially loved the windowed elevator effect you pulled off, it really gave the level a very "theme" feeling.
And the boss...god I hate that boss
In end, I may of gotten off on the wrong foot with this by just coming out of dooms action like gameplay, but in the end this was a great episode in terms of gameplay and design. the only think I can think of that really needs work is in the artist department. Some of the levels were not all that pretty to look at, but there where a few that you did quite good at. In ending, playing through this was worth it, even if it did take me awhile _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!

Thanks for the final commentary. It appears that the puzzle at the beginning of End Game is reliant upon there NOT being a bug in the game engine, meaning that v1.3 is required.
Also, as to your comment that one of the parts of End Game was "lackluster" it is not intended that each part of the level be judged separately. Remember, this was one big level originally, but I was forced to break it up into smaller, lesser, parts due to game engine limitations. So, all of End Game should be judged as a whole.
I appreciate your criticisms about the boring textures in some areas. You're probably right. I could have probably done better in that department. I focused mainly on gameplay.
Thanks again, and congrats on being the first human being on the face of the earth to complete my episode.
Does this mean that you actually upgraded to v1.3 and reached the key the way it was intended?

Yep, had to get my disk out and patch that install, as for some reason my zipped backup copy wasn't working with the patcher. Either patched it up and it started working for me. _________________ Head on over to the Rise of the Triad HQ for ROTT news, downloads, and more!
