I'm totally ignorant but I'm with ReaperMan in that it doesn't look to me like much work would need done to get DOS ROTT up.
You guys seem to be a little more savvy so possible?  |

I know the Blood community uses Yang to play multiplayer through Dosbox...so one would think it shouldn't be too difficult to do. Though I'm not really well knowledge on this so perhaps one of the others would know a bit more.
Though it was nice to read jbailey's post there. Seems Winrott multiplayer support won't show up until the guys at icculus do something.

It is definitely possible to play ROTT using YANG, ny00123 mentioned this to me many a time when I was helping port it to Mac OSX... (Actually, I was just essentially typing what he said, as I didn't know much at the time...)
Also, Dukonnector had this ability through DOSBox, but it has since stopped being developed. (I wonder where aaBlueDragon went..?)

Well, I contacted Replica over at Yang and he said this:
"Playing Rise of the Triad on YANG will be possible one day on a new YANG version that is currently still under development and we don't have any release date yet.
I can say though it will most likely not be this year that we will release a new YANG version with new features as it's far to be completed and Turrican our coder has no time this year due to real life issues so the development of YANG has slowed down a bit until we can get back on track with the coding."
So, it might be a while yet but there's some good news there! Yang looks like a good all round system so it might encourage a little more online activity than, say, Dukonnector which I didn't even know supported other games until recently... |

Hmm... i just saw that you people posted my topic here so i might as well bring it up, anyone who can program what to give this a try so we can easily setup the dos version of ROTT to play online?  |

I'd be up for that. Though last time I tried dos rott it was unplayable for me. And I tried with bluedragon, the guy who made the original dukonnector, to see if it would work on dukonnector.
